In the foreground the main Knutsford to Wilmslow road, behind this part of the original Ilford Photo (now Harman Technology) site now occupied by c.90 new houses built by Barratt Homes. Further back the remaining Ilford buildings now hidden from view - as we're only 1 mile from Manchester airport's new Runway 2 you can actually see the planes landing if they are using runway 06 right and the camera is "looking" over the rooftops. The camera is a Phillips ToUcam Pro II and seems to give resonable image quality. The image should refresh automatically every 5 seconds ( or 10" click here) - if it doesn't the program has hung again - or I've got fed up with it and gone out birdwatching! |

| The chimney at the back was removed in 1960, so this picture of the factory was taken before then. The letters"EWS" on the left-hand edge of the image (near the small door) were from WWII and stood for "Emergency Water Supply". The newly planted orchard belonged to a house owned by St. Dunstans and occupied by Jim Beaty a blind ex-serviceman - so I'm guessing at the late 40's |

| This plaque can be seen in it's original position high up on the wall (just to the left of the street light) in the second of these images. It was saved from the demolition men and incorporated as part of the new community building standing in a prominent position next to the entrance. |
